Engineers

An AI assistant for engineers: it does the desk work, you sign off

OPTES takes on the tedious part of engineering desk work. It writes calculation scripts with clear units and visible formulas, builds bills of quantities in code, extracts requirements from specifications and scanned drawings, and drafts site reports and method statements. It does not certify designs or replace your judgement: the responsible engineer reviews and signs every output.

What OPTES does for you

Calculation scripts

Describe the calculation and its inputs. OPTES writes a Python script with units on every variable and every formula shown, tests it against your hand-checked example, and you verify the method.

An example of what you type

Write a script that checks bending and shear for simply supported beams from span and load, show each formula, and compare it with my worked example.

Bill of quantities

From your take-off file it builds the BOQ in code: grouped items, units, quantities and section totals, with visible formulas a checker can audit.

An example of what you type

Turn this take-off into a BOQ grouped by trade, with a total per section and a flag on any item whose unit is unclear.

AvailableCoding and full projects

Read specifications and drawings

Send a specification PDF or a scanned drawing sheet. It extracts requirements, written notes and title-block data into a list and flags anything ambiguous.

An example of what you type

Extract every requirement on concrete cover and curing from this 80-page specification, with the page number for each.

AvailableReading images and documents

Research standards and practice

Ask about a clause or a method. It summarises what published sources say, links each point to its source, and notes where editions or local codes may differ.

An example of what you type

Summarise common practice for expansion joint spacing in long concrete slabs in hot climates, with sources.

Draft the technical report

From your notes, results and photos it drafts site reports, method statements and progress reports in Arabic or English, in your template's structure, for you to check and sign.

An example of what you type

Write this week's progress report from these notes, using the same structure as last week's, in Arabic with an English summary.

Site voice notes

Record your observations on site in your own dialect. OPTES turns them into text, then into an organised list of observations, actions and who owns each.

An example of what you type

Here's the recording from today's site visit. Turn it into a list of observations and assign an owner to each point.

FAQ

Questions and answers

How does OPTES help engineers?

It handles desk work: calculation scripts, bills of quantities, extracting requirements from specifications, researching references, drafting reports and turning voice notes into minutes. Engineering judgement stays with you.

Does it replace the engineer's judgement or sign-off?

No. It prepares calculations, documents and summaries, but it does not certify or approve designs. The responsible engineer checks the method, inputs and results, and signs off on every deliverable.

Can it read engineering drawings?

It reads drawings and specifications as images and documents: notes, schedules, title blocks and text. Verify any dimension it reports against the original sheet before relying on it.

Does it write reports in Arabic and English?

Yes, in Arabic, English or both in one document, keeping technical terms, symbols and units exactly as they should be. You can brief it in Modern Standard Arabic or your own dialect.
